MARKET DEVELOPMENT

Choose a manageable first market to test

A new country brings language, fulfilment and budget decisions. Examine the assumptions with a small test.

1. Define the buyer first

Choose the customer need, purchase situation and product range. A market can look attractive overall while being a poor fit for your specific price, offer or capacity.

2. Check you can serve

Confirm delivery coverage, support, language and payment practicality. Obtain the required professional advice for legal, tax, certification and customs matters before making commitments.

3. Observe the buying experience

Record how relevant competitors explain their offers and receive enquiries, with sources and dates. This creates hypotheses; it does not prove their marketing works or reveal profit.

4. Set boundaries

Agree an offer, audience, page, spending limit and review date. Name the people supplying content and handling responses. Avoid multiplying countries and platforms before understanding the first journey.

5. Agree the next decision

Define what would justify continuing, changing or stopping. Review buyer questions and commercial progress with marketing activity. Inconclusive results may require more information.
